There are rarely times that I think anything other than, “Dang, this is the best job in the world.” But never have I felt more gratitude for my career and the opportunities that it affords me than when I had the opportunity to photograph my best friend, my soul sister, my absolute ride or die marrying her human. September 9, 2017 was probably my favorite day of 2017.
Lynn and Tim have been together more than 10 years and for them, their family, and so many of their friends this day was a long time coming and such an incredible way to celebrate their relationship. The energy at the Scout Statue was palpable – the air was practically vibrating with pure joy. The sun was warm over our heads, the clouds were straight out of a fairytale just like cotton candy, Kansas City shined in the background and the Scout gazed out above us as Lynn and Tim read their vows. There were firecrackers and rose petals, tears and jovial cheers as they made their way back down the isle.
The whole day had funky 70’s undertones without feeling trendy, tacky or themed. There were twinkling lights above the pool and Tim brought his collection of cacti cultivated over the years to decorate the table tops. Every single person was smiling ear to ear, glasses clinked, the savory scent of Joe’s Kansas City wafted through the air. Lynn and Tim threw a one of kind celebration that was so perfectly true to them. Cheers to 12 million more memories for my favorite love birds.
